Introduction
Flex's reward program is built on a simple belief: every kilometer you ride, every goal you hit, and every streak you keep means something, and that effort deserves to be recognized.
This document explains how EcoGems and Badges work, how you earn and redeem them, and what rules apply. These terms are part of our Terms of Service and should be read alongside our Privacy Policy. By participating in the reward program, you agree to both.
1. The Reward Program
Flex offers two types of rewards:
EcoGems are points you earn through your rides and achievements. They reflect your real-world effort and your contribution to a cleaner way to travel. EcoGems can be redeemed through active Eco Campaigns, such as contributing to tree planting through our Tree Nation partnership.
Badges are permanent achievement markers that recognize key milestones in your Flex journey. They live on your profile and cannot be redeemed, transferred, or removed.
2. Earning EcoGems
You can earn EcoGems through the following activities:
- Achieving your weekly goal: Completing your weekly riding goal earns EcoGems scaled to the difficulty level you set.
- Riding each day: Completing a ride on any given day earns 1 EcoGem.
- Reaching cumulative milestones: Selected cumulative achievements (such as total distance or elevation milestones) award EcoGems upon completion.
The specific EcoGem amounts for each activity are shown in the app at the time of earning. Hyena reserves the right to adjust earning rates with reasonable notice. Changes will not affect EcoGems already credited to your account.
3. Earning Badges
Badges are awarded automatically when you meet the conditions for a milestone. They are one-time achievements and are displayed permanently on your Achievements page.
The conditions for each badge are described within the app. Badges have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for EcoGems or any other reward.
4. EcoGem Redemption
How to redeem
EcoGems can be redeemed through active Eco Campaigns available in the app. Each campaign specifies the redemption conditions, the number of EcoGems required, and the available reward (for example, planting a tree through Tree Nation).
Availability
Redemption options depend on the active campaigns at the time. Hyena does not guarantee that any specific redemption option will be available at any given time.
No cash value
EcoGems have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another account, or sold. They do not constitute your property and do not entitle you to any vested right or interest.
Non-transferability
EcoGems are tied to your individual Flex account and cannot be transferred to another user, gifted, or combined with another account's balance.
5. EcoGem Expiration
EcoGems do not expire and are not affected by account inactivity.
If you choose to delete your Flex account, any remaining EcoGem balance will be permanently forfeited at the time of deletion and cannot be recovered.
6. Program Integrity
The Flex reward program is designed to reflect real riding effort. The following behaviors are not permitted:
- Using automated tools, scripts, or third-party apps to artificially generate rides or trigger rewards
- Manipulating ride data to inflate distance, elevation, or other metrics
- Exploiting bugs or unintended system behavior to earn rewards not genuinely earned
Account suspension
If your account is suspended due to a violation of our Community Standards, your EcoGem balance, Badges, and ride data are not affected. You may continue to earn EcoGems through your rides as normal.
In cases of severe, repeated or illegal violations, your account may be terminated in accordance with our Terms of Service. Removed rewards will not be reinstated.
7. Changes to the Program
Hyena may modify, suspend, or discontinue the reward program or any part of it at any time. When we make material changes (such as changes to earning rates, redemption options, or expiration rules), we will provide at least 30 days' notice through in-app notification or email before the changes take effect.
If the program is discontinued entirely, we will provide notice and a reasonable redemption window before any remaining EcoGem balances are forfeited.
8. Account and Reward Management
Account responsibility
You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you believe your EcoGem balance is incorrect, contact us through the Help Center. We will do our best to investigate reported discrepancies but cannot guarantee resolution in all cases.
Technical issues
We make every effort to ensure rewards are credited accurately and on time. In the event of a technical error that results in incorrect crediting or deducting of EcoGems, we reserve the right to correct the balance. Hyena is not liable for delays or errors caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
9. Limitation of Liability
The reward program is offered as a feature of the Flex service and is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Hyena's liability in connection with the reward program is limited to the value of EcoGems directly affected by any error or breach on our part.
We are not responsible for losses resulting from account deletion or program discontinuation following reasonable notice.
